Meet the Team
Your body, your movement. Let's get it working right.
Casey Gates
Founder, Clinical Director & Practitioner
From Personal Pain to Clinical Precision
Casey didn’t enter the world of bodywork through textbooks—he entered it through personal pain. After being hit by a car while training for a triathlon, he was left with nerve damage, limited mobility, and chronic back pain. He spent a year bouncing between doctors and providers, each offering a different theory but no solution. Nothing helped.
Eventually, he discovered a different kind of approach—one that blended hands-on treatment, nervous system awareness, and functional movement. His first experience with this came through Rolfing®, which helped him begin to move better and rebuild trust in his body. It wasn’t the full solution, but it was the turning point. That experience led him to enroll in the Rolf Institute, where he began his formal training in bodywork.
Since then, Casey has branched out far beyond traditional Rolfing, integrating a wide range of tools, modalities, and perspectives—from pain neuroscience to biomechanics to movement education. And as his practice evolved, so did his understanding of people. His earlier work in mental health and behavioral therapy—once a separate chapter of his life—has resurfaced as a key part of how he supports clients today. Whether it’s helping someone navigate chronic pain, rebuild confidence in their body, or feel seen and heard for the first time, Casey brings a whole-person approach to the table.
A Unique Lens on Healing
With a degree in Human Services and a background in mental health and advocacy, Casey approaches clinical bodywork through a wide lens:
The body (structure, biomechanics, and movement)
The brain (pain science and nervous system regulation)
The person (your lived experience, history, and goals)
He’s not here to “fix” you. He’s here to partner with you—to get curious, to ask the right questions, and to create change that lasts.
Not Massage. Not PT. Something More.
Casey founded NW Clinical Bodywork for people who feel like they’ve tried everything. This isn’t spa relaxation or quick-fix gimmicks—it’s focused, hands-on treatment that helps people finally understand what’s going on in their bodies and what to do about it.
His work blends biomechanics, neuroscience, movement, and education—all in a way that makes sense to real people, not just medical professionals. His results-based approach attracts chronic pain sufferers, active individuals, and anyone who’s “tried everything” without success.
Beyond the Clinic
Casey lives in Camas, WA with his two young daughters, who keep him grounded, laughing, and frequently pulled into spontaneous Taylor Swift dance parties. Being a dad is one of the most meaningful parts of his life and continues to shape how he shows up—for his clients and for himself.
Outside the clinic, he enjoys running local trails, cycling, hiking, cooking, and spending time exploring the Pacific Northwest. Whether it’s movement, nature, or making a great meal, he believes taking care of your body doesn’t have to be complicated—it just has to be consistent.
He continues to study posture, pain neuroscience, and movement therapy not just to stay sharp—but because he believes that when clients understand their bodies, they become their own best advocates.

Casey grew up in Southern California and graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in Human Services. After graduating, he had the urge to explore the world so he started traveling. He taught English in Taiwan, surfed all over Central America, backpacked through Europe, and volunteered at orphanages in India and Mexico. After exploring 18 countries, he returned to California where he held positions as an advocate for child abuse victims as well as a behavioral therapist for kids with Autism. Helping people has always been a priority of Casey’s.
